The Resurrection of Osiris: Mythology of One Reborn Beyond Trials

Through Osiris, the symbol of severance and rebirth, we borrow the wisdom of ancient Egypt to explore how to use the dark periods of our lives as the foundation for a new birth.

The Resurrection of Osiris: How a Wounded Soul Becomes a Ruler

The most beloved god in ancient Egyptian mythology is undoubtedly Osiris. He was a wise ruler who spread civilization, but suffered a horrific tragedy when he was murdered out of jealousy by his younger brother Set, and his body was divided into 14 pieces and scattered in the Nile River.

However, his wife Isis did not give up, carefully searched for and recovered the scattered pieces, and resurrected him with spiritual power. This story is not merely an ancient myth, but shows the universal stages of 'collapse and regeneration' we encounter in life.

I. Segmentation: The Collapsing Self

In life, for everyone, 'the moment Osiris is broken into pieces' arrives.

  • Pain of Loss: Betrayal by someone trusted, deterioration of health, frustration of dreams. During this period, we feel torn into several pieces and fall into despair that we cannot return to our previous whole selves.
  • Inevitable Dismantling: However, this dismantling is also a process of the old and solid ego collapsing. If not broken into pieces, we cannot be reassembled into a greater being.

II. Collection: The Act of Love and Healing

Isis's act of gathering the fragmented Osiris again symbolizes the 'healing instinct' within us.

  • Self-Care: Time is needed to carefully examine our scattered heart pieces one by one and touch the painful parts.
  • Reconciliation of Integration: Past wounds and pain are not garbage to be discarded, but precious materials that constitute a new 'me.' Only when there are wounds can golden bandages (the shroud of a mummy and a symbol of light) be wrapped.

III. Resurrection: Standing as the Monarch of the Underworld

The resurrected Osiris did not return as the king of the Earth as before. Instead, he became the monarch of the 'Duat,' the land of the dead.

  • Growth on a Different Dimension: A person who has undergone trials and is reborn gains a much deeper and broader vision than before. They have evolved into a 'Spiritual Leader' who can empathize with and heal the hearts of those suffering.
  • Eternal Vitality: Just as a vessel that was broken and glued back together becomes harder, a soul that stands up after overcoming wounds gains an immortal life force that never collapses.

IV. To the Osiris Within You

Do you feel that your life is currently in pieces? Are you in a deep pit because of 'Set' who envies you?

Remember: within you, the divine 'Isis' who wanders looking for your fragmented pieces is with you. The tearing pain you are currently experiencing is not for the purpose of destroying you, but a grand cosmic ritual to re-create you as a being of a higher dimension.

Conclusion: Become the King of Life Through Death

Ancient Egyptians taught through the story of Osiris: "Only those who have truly died can truly live."

Carefully recover your painful memories today. And connect those pieces with the light of love. You will be reborn as a new being, much more dignified and merciful than you were before, ruling your own kingdom. A wound is not a scar, but a passage through which light enters into you.
